Intervention areas
IGD is aware of the impact that a shopping center has on the surrounding environment.
While during the construction phase the spaces of IGD's intervention - which mainly buys "ready-made" real estate property - are limited, the leverage controlled in the dayly running of the center is considerable: from the regulation and maintenance of the general systems to the correct and proper organisation of the waste disposal.
The resyling and expansion of the shopping center represents a real opportunity to intervene for IGD, which can improve the environmental impact and energy efficiency of the building.
Photovoltaic project
In 2011, two pilot projects will be made for the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of the malls of many shopping centers. These two projects will run along side the four installations already completed and those under construction by Coop Adriatica on portions of roof above its hypermarket in several of IGD's freehold shopping centers.
